    Brierlie’s ‘EAT ME’ Blog! mmmmmm

    2010 - 09.09

    Hi there!

Now I do like to boast and exhibit off my friends, because….welll…they are all beautiful incredible! Each and everyone person I know brings that ’something special’ to the table! In Brierlie’s case, she really does ‘BRING SOMETHING TO THE TABLE!’! Her lovely small ‘Num nums!’.

This small cookie (Brierlie) can make some gorgeous works of art out of a bit of sugar, food colouring, flour and all the small bits that go into cakes! Her creativity when it comes to baking is, hands down, the cutest thing you have seen!

Please take a see at Brierlie’s blog:
    EAT ME

Brierlie was one of 4 of my friends that brought something to the table at my baby shower. Here’s a small example of her work…these are Brierlie’s ‘It’s a BOY!’ Cupcakes…. because yes…we’re having a boy!

Now everyone can memorize how to make these small lovely cupcake gems!
Brierlie isn’t the only ally of mine that is special chef! I have a few others that are on par with her… I thought I could bake and all these girls proved me incorrect…. BUT I am currently trying to convince them to start up their own blogs as well… so I will not be showing you their ‘works of art’ until they get them online! :D
    Thanks and pleased eating!

I may not have internet but I still have my blackberry! This means updated my 'on the jobs' while I'm really ON the job!

This is the first time I've had to travel down from Cambridge to London for a job since I went two weeks ago and it was surprisingly rapid and simple.

The team is really lovely and everyone has clicked straight absent. Chirag, the creative director for the shoot, is brilliant and I'm enjoying his banter and his creative eye.

It's been a beautiful brilliant day so distant! A talented small team they have here, who are relaxed to be around and very professional at the same time.

Here are some behind the scenes from nowadays.

Ellie Mules Modelling Muse, Jon Fraser Surrey Wedding Photographer and Caroline Arthur Wedding Dresses

    2010 - 08.20

Hey Everyone! I’ve got my dongle plugged in again and thought I would quickly do an update!

A couple of weeks ago, before I went, I had a shoot with a excellent ally of mine, Ellie Mules, who is the lead singer of Slashed Seat Affair . Ellie had been questioned to model for Caroline Arthur who is a wedding dress designer in Surrey. The photographer that day was Jon Fraser who is an established photographer in Surrey as well.

The day started with me going to Ellie’s flat, first time I have been there since she bought it! I finally met her kittens (who aren’t really kittens anymore, but we can pretend). Jon then arrived after I did hair and make-up and we hopped in his car to Guildford where we were assembly Caroline at her studio and would be shooting on location.

Luckily it wasn’t too sunny out and too wasn’t raining which made for perfect shooting weather and atmosphere.

Here are a few behind the scenes of the day and some of the final shots, though there are a lot more than this which I will add later!

Ellie was the perfect model! She always looks perfect in front of the camera and the dresses looked incredible on her.

I fair realised that all my amusing small behind the scenes shots are on my external difficult drive which I can’t access  right now…so once again… you’ll have to wait for those!
Go and check out Jon Fraser whether you are looking for a wedding photographer in Surrey and I certainly recommend taking a peek at Caroline Arthur’s work as she will make a dress really how you want it from scratch! Fair what every bride wants!
Oh! and don’t forget to check out Ellie’s band! Slashed Seat Affair!

Jennifer Higby Artist, Mother and Brilliant Friend…

    2010 - 08.02
Jennifer Higby, one of my oldest and maximum lovely friends!

I met Jenny 14 years ago when we were babies in Tall School in Colorado.  I was 14 and a freshman and Jenny was 15 and a sophmore. We lived approach each other and took the same bus to school. One day, while listening to our discman (GASP! No MP3 players back then!) with our proper headphones (You know, the ones than really had large fluffy speakers around your ears?), both of ours ran out of battery at the same time. We both turned to each other, asking the other whether they had a spare battery. We became excellent friends after that day.

Jenny was probably one of the maximum talented artist friends I had. Growing up in L.A. meant I met a lot of friends who had some sort of artistic talent, from music, fashion to drawing, but no one had the drawing creativity and talent that Jenny had. Jenny studied art throughout Tall School and even did a hilarious drawing of me when I had my cropped hair and thought I was punk rock!

After Tall School, approximately a year or so later, Jenny and I became flatmates for a while. We used to conversation approximately us going to Venice Beach, California to be tattoo artists. We never did make it to Venice Beach. but instead I went to London not long after and Jenny helped run a business and had two gorgeous girls.

As time went on I started my own art career in London and Jenny started her art career in Colorado. Jenny makes murals, collages, portraits and too trains as an apprentice tattoo artist (i’m very envious). Jenny is one of my oldest and maximum lovely, unique friends. Her artwork certainly represents who she is as a person and the passion and creativity she possesses.  I have watched Jenny make incredible images over and over again. Her talent is endless and she is only getting better.

Here is a portrait she did of my best ally Lena Mae (whom you have probably peruse approximately in my blog) backstage at one of her shows.

Myself and Lena and ummm her assets
You can view more of Jenny’s work that’s for sale on Jennifer Higby Art . Jenny too takes commissions so whether you have a musician that you LIKE, you’d like a collage of the things your like, a pet who you adore or you would fair like to have a portrait of yourself, I certainly recommend going to Jenny for your next custom piece.
Now go check her out now! RAPID!
